Minutes of the Meeting of the Wainfleet St Mary Community Hall Committee which took place on Tuesday April 18th 2023 at 2.30pm following on from the Events meeting at 1.30pm in the Community Hall, St Michael’s Lane, Wainfleet St Mary PE24 4HB.
These are draft minutes until approved at the next Committee meeting scheduled for May 16th at 2.30 pm 2023.
1. Members Present:

3.Declarations of Interest
No interests were registered.
4.Minutes of the Annual Meeting
The minutes were read and agreed – Proposed by TW and Seconded by Cllr AP – Unanimous vote to resolve.
5. Finance report
The cheque of £545.99 for Mr S Bogg for the installation of the hob in the hall kitchen was approved and signed at the Council Meeting Monday 17th April.
This, when deducted from the Hall accounts, gives a closing balance of £16,722.93.
Two car boot sales so far this year have a surplus of £18.00 and £42.20 respectively
totalling £60.20 to date.
£40.00 was received as a donation from the family of Elsie Lepla who sadly passed away very recently. This was gratefully received, and a minute’s silence will be held in memory of Elsie at the next Lunch Club date on May 10th.
6. Working Groups – Events Planned and Associated Expenditure.
Car Boot Signage – 2 x A3 frames plus poster to advise prospective car booters where the location is : “Clear up after your Dog signage” is also required and signs to be fixed to Truckmasters fencing for directions to the field (permission confirmed by Cllr MR)
Proposal to confirm with Cllr CB to purchase and display the signs
Proposed Cllr SS, Seconded by Cllr AP – unanimous decision to resolve.
Cllr SS will advise Cllr CB of the decision.
Lunch Club -the next scheduled date is Wednesday May 10th – Sausage and Mash. Concern has been expressed over the increasing numbers and it is agreed to monitor and limit the numbers to no more than 40.
There will be a celebration to commemorate the Coronation - proposed by Vice Chair AM and seconded by Cllr AP.
A proposal to consider a Sunday lunch to follow on from the car boot was considered but decided against owing to volunteer availability and the competition from local pubs.
Mrs Veronica Adams is a new volunteer when required for the Lunch Club as is Cllr BA complete with waistcoat and pinny if required....all help is alwayswelcome and appreciated.
The Chine Supper is in the diary.
Consideration had been given in the Annual meeting to explore the possibility of extending the footprint of the Hall – however investigation indicates the Council own the land the Hall is stood on and the small area to the front of the building but no further land to the rear of the building.
7.The Village Show.
The notes from the previous meetingput forward their proposals for the Show – the Chair asked if the Committee were happy to accept the recommendations – Proposed Jan W and seconded Trev W – Unanimously resolved to adopt all recommendations.
The notes are attached as Appendix A to the Paper copy of the Minutes.
8.Correspondence – No correspondence received.
9. Future Meetings.
The date agreed for the next meeting is Tuesday May 16th at 2.30 to follow on directly from the Events meeting at 1.30pm
The Chair SS thanked everyone for attending and their input and closed the meeting at 3.15pm.
