Queens Platinum meeting
Minutes of the meeting on the 28th Feb
In attendance William, Deborah, Jean, Michael, Ian, Joe, Don, Wendy, Father Hugh for the first 10 mins.
Bill welcomed everyone for coming, and thanked them for their input and help so far.
The prep action sheet was gone through updates as follows :
Wendy and Jean trying to contact David Turner as he is away to borrow chairs ( robin says they have them and we can borrow)
Jean to look for table cloths.
Batemans truck awaiting response from Stuart.
Cake stall Wendy to speak to Carole re what she is going todo, red / white / blue cup cakes etc
Sutton Bill going to see if they would like to open.
Vintage cars Mick still trying to get hold of him.
Flags etc mick measuring up wainfleet st mary side.
Display of photos Sandra/Deborah/jean to meet to organise
Tubs in market place to use red / white / blue ribbons
Jubilee tree awaiting David to return.
Pubs are getting there plans together will let us know in due course
Best shop front bill going to visit shops in due course.
Ceilidh band 4.30 onwards.
Further discussions
Saturday at the minute is football and the library, talk to pubs to concentrate on he Saturday.
ELDC to pay prices for flags , Union Jack 5 x 3 £5.00 each, Union Jack 8 x 5 £15.00 each
Jubilee flag 5 x 3 £7.00 each stick flags large 12 x 18 £1.00 per flag.
Bunting 60p per metre
Union flag £1.10 per metre.
Bunting, flags etc £1590 Mick to sort with Bill.
Platinum Jubilee picnic Posteregoing out asap on notice boards etc. Face book etc
Ask resident what they were doing in 1953 to do a facebook campaign with your stories, families stories.
4.30 pm Ceilidh band.
Steve Lowndes been contacted to compère, a figure of £150 needs talking to again maybe Carole could contact him.
Days order of event.
Deborah to open , then National Anthem, followed by Rachel / just sing £50 donation suggested.
Theatre club to do 1/2 hour followed by other acts, singers etc.
Jean contacting Carl, Bill trying to speak to Jazz Band /singer anyone have any other thoughts please get in touch.
Tombola stall any prizes etc give to Deborah.
Queen to parade around in mini.
Platinum badges 65p each trying to ascertain from school how many children, Need to decide asap on number required.
