What has 2023 seen?
2023 started with an invitation to quote for a design planned out by our councillor Dr C Shrubsole ,an Environmental scientist, to provide a peaceful and an easily maintained green space for the Community to sit and watch the world go by.
Further planting will take place over the year and the life of the Orchard - keep watching to see the flowers and shrubs we will be looking for if you would like to be involved. This is a Community Orchard and it is hoped the Community will continue to be involved and supportive.
The design has been submitted along with a request for grant funding on March 1st for assistance from the UKSP fund - the levelling up fund which has been allocated to all local authorities for community projects.
Whilst the process has had a few early problems we are give to understand we will have a decison as to whether or not we have been successful is imminent - so fingers crossed!!
