What has 2024 seen

2024 began with assistance from National Grid and members of the community, as we treated all the timbers of the new fences and conducted regular maintenance and upkeep.

Elton, the Crocodile made his permanent appearance, as part of the Rocking Around Wainfleet Group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1125400778039670 He is an amazing  work of art and well worth a view. Along with this the Wainfleet Geocaching Network, had been created with a cache focused on the Orchard https://www.facebook.com/groups/389389740851233

A successful bid for funding supplied via the Outer Dowsing project, has meant we have been able to plant a range of sensory shrubs, throughout the orchard and provide planters to be enjoyed by all, but especially those with mobility issues, truly making this a community space, for enjoyment and quiet contemplation.

Although the shrubs will take a few years to be established, and their beauty fully appreciated, we have also planted snowdrops around the boundary to provide spring colour
The design and planting, means that in time there will be colour and fragrance throughout the year.

Keep watching this space - and our FaceBook page for pictures and updates.

And of course any willing volunteers always warmly welcomed.....we area fun bunch to work with - and it is very rewarding to see efforts made looking so good....
