Getting the project under way

Tree Planting
In the beginning...

The area around the Western Power pole has long been over grown offering brambles but little else. Following a donation of 5 fruit trees from East Lindsey the Parish Council decided something needed to be done.....the parcel of land has now been leased from Western Power and was cleared earlier this year with assistance from LJL Landscapes. Trees were planted 23rd March in glorious sunshine on the anniversary of the first lockdown followed on the 24th March by a steady drizzle...perfect for establishing new trees. Grass seeding will be completed over the next few weeks and daffodil bulbs planted in memory of all those who lost their lives to Covid-19. Once the trees and grass are established the Parish Council is planning to purchase a memorial bench for all to sit and enjoy. Trees planted for those with a gardening interest are :

Peasgood Nonsuch - Apple - Dual Purpose

Ellison's Orange - Apple - Dessert

Sleeping Beauty - Apple - Culinary

Victoria Plum - Plum

Concorde - Pear
