Rules and Terms and Conditions of Entry
The competition is open to all ages with the exception of professional bakers/craft persons, or relatives of the judging panel. Junior submissions (16 and under) must have their parent or responsible adult’s permission to enter, but are also welcomed.
There is no limitations to the number of classes that can be entered and won. Certificates will be given to the winners of all classes. There is a small submission charge of 20p per class entered, payable with the entry form.
The Judge’s decision on the day is final.
Be-Ro recipe for a Victoria Sandwich
Ingredients:
100g 4oz margarine
100g 4oz caster sugar
2 medium eggs
100g 4oz self raising flour
Method:
Heat oven to 180oC, 350oF, Gas mark 4. Grease two 18cm (7 inch) sandwich tins.
Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding a little flour with each.
Gently fold in the remaining flour.
Place in the prepared tins and bake for 20-25 minutes or 40-45 minutes if in one tin.
When cool fill with jam or cream. Dust with caster or icing sugar
