Celebrating Community Spirit Through Blossoms and Blooms
In an effort to bring our community closer and celebrate the beauty of nature, our village is delighted to announce the inaugural Best Garden and Sunflower Competition. This event is designed to encourage residents to showcase their gardening talents, foster a love for horticulture, and enhance the aesthetic appeal of our village.
Best Sunflower
Open to all residents, this category will award the tallest, most vibrant sunflower. Judges will consider the flower’s height, colour, and overall health.
To enter you must be a resident of St Mary's or All Saints to allow judging without travelling 20 miles and more!!
Judging will take place during in August.
Judging Criteria
A panel will judge each garden based on the following criteria:
- Creativity: Original and innovative design concepts.
- Plant Variety: A diverse range of plant species and varieties.
- Maintenance: Health and care of plants, including pruning and weeding.
- Sustainability: Use of environmentally friendly practices.
- Overall Aesthetic: Visual appeal and harmony of the garden.
How to Enter
Participation in the competition is open to all residents. To enter, please follow these steps:
- Submit an entry form from the show schedule.
- Include a brief description of your garden.
- Submit your entry by the deadline, which is 31st July 2026.
