Minutes of the Extraordinary Meeting of Wainfleet St Mary Parish Council which took place on Wednesday 25th February 2026 at 18.10 in the Community Hall, St Michaels Lane, Wainfleet St Mary, PE24 4HB, preceded by the Public Forum at 18.00
These are draft minutes and are subject to amendment until approved at the next Council Meeting Monday March 9th 2026, at 18.10.
Public: No members of Public were present.
1. Members present
Cllr C Alexander (Chair CA)), Cllr M Rust (MR); Cllr A Proctor (PA); Cllr T Ward (TW); Cllr Jan Ward (JW); Cllr S Tetley; Also Present – Clerk M Clarke
2. Apologies for Absence – Apologies were received from Cllr P Garrard, Cllr M Rendall - Council resolved to accept.
3. Declarations of Interest – No declarations were received.
4. Farm Business Tenancies and approval of Contract changes
The amended contracts and mapping as agreed by Willsons with additional costs of £100-£150.00 had been shared with Councillors and were presented for approval.
Proposed Cllr MR, Seconded Cllr ST – all agreed to approve and resolve.
A proposal was put forward for a monthly physical inspection to be adopted to maintain the dykes as the new contracts demand – the Allotments working group to manage and report at monthly council meetings. All agreed this would be helpful – Proposed to adopt Cllr MR, Seconded Cllr JW – all agreed to approve and resolve.
5. Approval of revised drainage and resultant costs.
The revised agreement to drain 5 acres on one tenanted plot and 2 acres on a second tenanted plot with a revised cost of £10,444.75 plus vat along with the agreed clearance of silt from a boundary dyke to enable the proposed drainage to be effective were put forward for approval for a cost of between £800-£900. Proposed Cllr TW, Seconded Cllr AP – all agreed to approve and resolve.
Chair CA thanked all for attending and closed the meeting at 18.20

The main Council monthly meeting is scheduled for Monday 9th March at 18.10 following the Public Forum at 18.00
